'Velvet Curtains' ~ 'Velvet Curtains' is a mid-sized annual or biennial plant with large ovate, dark crimson leaves. It is grown for its long, distinctive, pendant, purple catkins on purple stems that appear in summer and autumn. Good for back of border or as a filler or dot plant, or as dried flower.
Grow in any moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered position. Water during dry periods to maintain flowering.
